Big announcement of BCCI, Vijay Hazare Trophy to be played from this day, 38 teams will be included

New Delhi The domestic tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is now going to host the Vijay Hazare Trophy, preparations are going on in full swing. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has also announced all the participating teams. There is a lot of enthusiasm among cricket fans and players.

The tournament will be held from February 20 to March 14 in six cities of the country. Delhi has been excluded from hosting this once again. The BCCI has announced that 38 teams will take part in the tournament, which is divided into six groups. The teams are divided into five elite groups consisting of six teams in each group while a plate group consisting of eight teams.

Elite group teams are divided into A, B, C, D and E squads which will be contested in Surat, Indore, Bangalore, Jaipur and Kolkata respectively, while the teams of Plate Group will be held in Chennai. Meanwhile, despite the dwindling case of Corona, Delhi has been excluded from hosting this tournament. Earlier even the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament was not held in Delhi.

As per the BCCI’s announced schedule, the players will arrive at the venue a week before the tournament starts and they will have to stay there in Quarantine. During the Quarantine, the players will undergo the Corona Test on 13, 15 and 17 February, while the practice sessions will be on 18 and 19 February.

After the end of the group stage, the pre-quarterfinal matches will be played on March 7 while the quarter-finals will be held on March 8 and 9. The semi-finals will be held on 11 March and the finals will be held on 14 March. The BCCI is yet to announce the venue of the knockout matches. The teams that reach the knockout will undergo a corona test on March 2 and 4.

Elite A- Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Hyderabad, Tripura, Baroda, Goa (Venue – Surat)

Elite B- Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh (Venue – Indore)

Elite Sea Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Railways, Bihar (Venue – Bengaluru)

Elite D- Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Puducherry (Venue – Jaipur)

Elite E- Bengal, Services, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh (Venue – Kolkata)

Plate Group Uttarakhand, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim (Venue – Chennai)
