The Union Commerce Minister, Mr. Piyush Goyal, in a meeting with a delegation of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), assured that the e-commerce business in India will be made more and more friendly by the traders and consumers of the country and e. A business model with a similar level of competition in the commerce business is being created which will encourage more and more traders to adopt e-commerce as an additional business opportunity and ensure a better commerce market.
Piyush Goyal told the delegation led by CAT’s national general secretary Praveen Khandelwal that his ministry is working hard to bring a strong e-commerce policy and a new press note 3 will also be released soon under the FDI policy. All routes such as violating the provisions of Press Note 2 will be closed.
Piyush Goyal said that the government is committed to ensuring that no one dares to violate the laws and rules and if anyone does so, they should be prepared to face the consequences. India is a land of established laws and every concerned company should follow the rules in every way. He also said that till now the law had been followed only on letters and papers, whereas the reality and intention was different. In view of such precarious situation, the government has taken a serious view and many steps will be taken soon to make e-commerce an attractive and profitable medium for business, so that consumers can get better and easier options.
Government is sensitive for businessmen
Goyal appreciated the suggestion made by CAT for compulsory registration of every e-commerce entity engaged in online transactions of goods and services through any medium of online business. He asked the officials present in the meeting to act on the suggestion. Goyal said that the government is very sensitive to the issues of traders and the government is committed to providing ease of doing business as traders are the real backbone of the economy and at the time of any crisis, traders are always ahead to help.
Work side by side
The superb services provided by the traders in maintaining the supply of essential commodities during the corona lock down are sufficient testimony to this fact. Goyal appealed to the CAT delegation to work shoulder to shoulder with the government in broadening the source of revenue and tax base with the government.
Easy GST System
On the suggestion of CAT to simplify the GST taxation system, Goyal assured that he would definitely talk to the Union Finance Minister, Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman and advised CAT that he too would give a detailed memorandum on the matter to the Finance Minister Let them know about your difficulties.
