Bill Wyman reveals the bad side of Brian Jones

Bill Wyman recalled how his former Rolling Stones bandmate Brian Jones took out a cigarette in his hand.

The 86-year-old bassist resigned from the Stones in 1993 after more than 30 years with the group, said its founder Brian, who drowned at age 27 on July 3, 1969, after battling drinking problems and drugs , he kicked out because he had a ‘bad side’.

As he told the Times:

“Brian Jones had his bad side – he’d blow out a cigarette on the back of your hand and then apologize profusely – but he was incredibly inventive.”

Further praising Brian, the guitarist added about the original Stones frontman, who let Mick Jagger and Keith Richards join him when he started the group:

‘He could take any instrument and do something with it that made all the songs beautiful. And it was Brian’s apartment in Edith Grove that Mick and Keith came to earlier.’

Bill said he now lives a quiet life since leaving the Stones, writing books and working on his solo projects from his home in Chelsea, south-west London, an area in which he is now a history specialist.

He said he had no regrets about leaving the band, which is set to tour in 2021 with Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, both 79, and Ronnie Wood, 74, following the death of their drummer Charlie Watts. , 80 years due to throat cancer :

‘Not even for a second do I regret leaving. I married Suzanne (Acosta, 52) two years after I left the Stones, we have three beautiful daughters, it couldn’t have been better.’

When asked if he is still in contact with his former bandmates, Bill said:

‘Charlie Watts was my best friend and now he’s gone, but I see Mick from time to time because I get on best with wife Jerry Hall (Mick’s ex-partner and mother of four of his eight children). is friend Mick, Keith and I send. Christmas cards to each other. I don’t have much to do with Ronnie (Wood).
