October 4 (WNN) — American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish has been booked as the headliner for the 2022 edition of Glastonbury Festival in England.
The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We can’t be more than happy to announce that wondrous @bilieeilish is heading the Pyramid Friday at next year’s Glastonbury Festival,” said festival representative Emily Avis, becoming the youngest solo headliner in our history. ” tweeted Monday. “This seems like the perfect way back for us and I can’t wait!”
The 19-year-old Grammy winner made headlines last month with her dazzling appearance in a pink ballgown at the Met Gala in New York City. She also recently performed at the Global Citizen Live concert and was a presenter at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Friday musician Danny Elfman announced Eilish will star in a live stage production based on Tim Burton’s animated classic, Nightmare before Christmas.
“I am delighted to announce that special guest star @ BillieEilish Sally will join the Nightmare gang to sing for our upcoming Nightmare before Christmas Shows in Bank of California Stadium,” tweeted Elfman.
