Bills beat Doppelhyns for fourth straight season

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. ( Associated Press) — Tyler Bass nailed a 25-yard field goal as time expired and the Buffalo Bills clinched their fourth straight postseason berth after the snow fell for a 32-29 win over the Miami Dolphins.

The Bills (11–3) overcame a 29–21 deficit, scoring on their final two drives. Josh Allen tied the game with a 5-yard pass to Dawson Knox and then the quarterback leapt over the line for a two-point conversion that tied the score at 29 with 9:02 left on the clock.

Allen led an 86-yard play that consumed the final 5:56 to set up Bass’s goal, which sent several Bills players diving into the ice.

Allen threw four touchdown passes to increase his career count to 171 – including receiving – and tied with former Miami quarterback Dan Marino for the most by an NFL player in his first five seasons.

Buffalo also recorded its fifth straight win and a three-game lead over Miami to inch closer to its third straight AFC East title.

The Dolphins (8-6) entered the weekend ranked second and sixth in the AFC. Now they have lost three in a row in their attempt to reach the post-season for the first time since 2016.

Despite the cold, the snow was not decisive until a heavy downpour began in the last quarter. The conditions were almost the opposite of the Dolphins’ 21–19 victory over Buffalo in Miami the previous September, which was played in 89 °F (32 °C).

On this occasion, the Bills took advantage of home advantage in a game they were about to slip.
