new Delhi: Amid the ongoing assembly elections, TMC leader Derek O’Brien on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying the saffron party was playing a mind game as they were losing to the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.
Derek O’Brien said, “Last night, Modi-Shah held a review meeting in Bengal. They know that we are ahead of them. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, we were 3 percent ahead of the BJP and this time it has increased to 6 percent. “The Tourist Gang” is behind despite a lot of talk and hence he is behind the game, “the TMC leader was quoted as saying by ANI. Are playing
O’Brien reiterated that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will not contest from any other seat and she has already won Nandigram. He said, “We have won Nandigram and she is not contesting from any other constituency, it is all BJP’s mind game.”
Meanwhile, TMC Vice President Yashwant Sinha accused the saffron party of spreading rumors of Mamata Banerjee contesting from another seat. He said, “BJP was spreading rumors of Mamata Banerjee contesting from another seat. Yesterday, JP Nadda repeated this lie again. We are all set to tackle their mind games. We will also ensure that EVMs are not exchanged. “
After Brian’s remarks, BJP President JP Nadda said that the TMC chief was looking for another constituency. Similar remarks have been made in the last few days by other BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a claim categorically denied by the TMC.
“This is her (Mamata Banerjee) strategy. We have information that she is looking for another constituency. Her people told me this. It is certain that she is losing in Nandigram.”
