Black list of municipalities preventing electric mobility

The inordinately slow pace of electric car charging point promoters in getting all the authorizations is a list of culprits that is becoming known. Part of the problem is due to municipalities that have decided to ignore state regulations to speed up the administrative process and now have to give an explanation to the National Market and Competition Commission (CNMC) because of a complaint filed by the ADIV association.

A group of companies concerned with electric mobility believes that 100 city councils fail to comply with criteria to accelerate public charging infrastructure by “impeding the free market”. The complaint is due to the refusal of these town halls to accept the attributed declaration establishing a royal decree law to avoid the usual paperwork of such work.

The association has collected information from recharging operators about municipalities that do not accept the responsible declaration established by the above standard for setting up public recharging infrastructure. edive determines that there are more than 90 cases of town halls that do not accept this process and requests the processing of this permit as a work permit, to accelerate the deployment of the Royal Decree-Law to recharging operators cancels one of the benefits it provides. Catalonia, the most non-compliant

Catalonia is the community with the most municipalities that put sticks on the wheels of electromobility, with 24, followed by Aragon (9); Andalusia, Madrid and the Valencian Community, each with 8 municipalities, and Castilla y León (7). According to association statistics, the other municipalities are divided among the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia, Navarra, the Canary Islands and La Rioja.

For Arturo Pérez de Lucía, general director of ADIV, “the most alarming thing” is that among the city councils that do not accept the responsible declaration, there are cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants “who are not aware of the existence of this obligation”. I know perfectly well but they ignore it”. On the other hand, in other cases, “Parliament has not considered this process in its electronic headquarters,” he concluded.
