La Paz, Bolivia ( Associated Press) — Bolivian police have arrested four people on suspicion of fraud after Mexican singer Christian Nodal canceled a concert in La Paz over the weekend.
“We are in the first investigation, there are four detainees including a businessman of Peruvian nationality. We are investigating the degree of the crime,” Colonel Rolando Rojas, of the Force to Fight Crime (FELCC) in La Paz, told Pan American Radio on Monday.
The concert was scheduled for Sunday night at the Rafael Mendoza Stadium in the south of the capital, but the company JG Music, which represents Nodal, announced its cancellation due to “breach of contract” by the company. productions, while hundreds of people lined up to see the artist in the stadium.
“We regret to report this fact, which completely exempts the artist and the company from responsibility,” JG Music’s statement read.
