Bolivian Customs seizes 45 undocumented vehicles from September to November 2023

Between September and November 2023, the staff of National Customs of Bolivia (AN) seized 45 undocumented vehicles worth USD 1,446,673. Strategic and routine operations are conducted mostly in the city of Oruro, Vichuloma y Spanish Bridgeas reported in regional manager, Patricia Trujillo.

Interventions are made by agents of Customs Immediate Reaction Group (GRIA) from Customs Operational Control Unit (UCOA); which found 15 motorized vehicles in September, 20 vehicles in October and the remaining 10 during the last weeks of November, including trucks, vans, buses, vans, cars, motorcycles.

“Most of the motorized vehicles were observed because the Advance Vehicle Registration Form (FRVA) determined that the chassis numbers were not reflected in the National Customs system, in addition to the lack of documentation proving the legal importation of the car.” said Trujillo.

The seized vehicles were sent to Oruro Interior Customs Enclosure so that AN personnel can maintain the corresponding physical capacity and, with it, determine their final destination.

It is worth mentioning that, between January 1 and November 30, 2023, the AN conducted 15,422 control operations throughout the country, seizing contraband worth more than USD 89 million.

The AN of the department of Oruro seized 143 vehicles from January to November of the current administration, amounting to USD 4,772,964. Instead, the value of USD 19,226,689 was confiscated in 2,627 strategic operations.
