Bomb Threats Target Ivy League Schools In Panic Over The Weekend

Bomb threats were reported on Sunday at three Ivy League universities, with similar threats reported in recent days to Yale and two Ohio universities.

Parts of upstate Cornell University and Columbia University in New York were evacuated Sunday afternoon after receiving bomb threats at various buildings on both campuses, universities reported on Twitter.

Cornell University, in notifications posted on Twitter, said the police had been called and told that the bombs had been planted in four buildings. Columbia University shared similar warning on Twitter but, at least initially, did not specify the target buildings.

About two hours later, the Rhode Island school student newspaper reported a bomb explosion in several buildings at Brown University.

It is not clear yet if any of the threats are related.

The warnings followed similar bomb threats Saturday at two Ohio schools: University of Miami and Ohio University… Both incidents were declared invalid. Police at Yale University in Connecticut said Friday that a call had come in that bombs were being planted on several campus buildings. This threat was also found to be false.
