Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was charged with rape and criminal intimidation. The woman who made these allegations, she has now applied to the Bombay High Court to withdraw her petition. The woman said that she wants to withdraw this case. In this petition, a request was made to order an FIR against the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president Hemant Soren. The court has accepted the new application.
The Bombay High Court will now hear the case on Wednesday (April 7, 2021). Public Prosecutor Deepak Thackeray said before a bench of Justice SS Shinde and Justice Manish Pitale that the woman had filed an application in the magistrate’s court to register a rape case against Hemant Soren in 2013. But, the Public Prosecutor says that the woman withdrew her complaint that same year as well.
In August 2020, the woman filed a petition in the High Court and reported an accident with her and feared that Soren was behind it too. The woman later withdrew that petition as well. Former Jharkhand journalist Sunil Kumar Tiwari and NGO ‘Stree Roshni Trust’ have also filed petitions in this case. He was also opposed by the Public Prosecutor.

The lawyer says that those seeking intervention have nothing to do with the case and the complainant herself wants to withdraw her complaint. Advocate Abad Ponda appeared as a lawyer for the woman and said that no one can be forced to continue the petition to her client.
