Azrul feels that he is no longer the right person to lead Pursebay.
Surabaya Azrul Anand, Chairman and CEO of Persebaya, has decided to resign from his position. The decision was taken as a measure of responsibility for the poor results experienced by Bazul Ijo this season.
Persebaya was recently defeated by RANS Nusantara FC in the 10th week of Liga 1 2022/23. Aji Santoso’s troops suffered a 2-1 defeat at the Gelora Delta Stadium on Thursday (15/9).
Farsabaya supporters, Bonek, who were dismayed by the negative results, immediately stormed the field, causing some damage. He expressed his disappointment as it was the third consecutive defeat this season.
It did not stop here, Bonek also raided Persabaya’s office today (16/9). They demand improvement from the management so that the bad trend can be eliminated.
“When asked for an evaluation, I should evaluate myself. So we had a meeting at the stadium last night. I have to evaluate myself, am I the right person to take Persebaya to a better place? ” Azrul said.
“I once said that Persabaya won the title the right way, in the midst of a situation that, as we know, may not have liked my way or did not live up to everyone’s expectations. So because of that I decided to resign. Will give it to the CEO of Pursebay,” said Azrul. ,
Even though he has announced his resignation, Azrul has guaranteed that he will continue to oversee Pursbay during the transition to the new owner. He did not want the 2017 Liga 2 champions to fall into the hands of the wrong person.
“I will resign as CEO of Persebaya. We will fulfill all responsibilities, all responsibilities as best we can. We will solve them in the best possible way. I am not someone who runs away from responsibilities.”
“All the responsibilities, all the burdens we will solve as much as we can. We will do the best solution legally. All the players, don’t worry about the coaches, we will solve it without any complaints.”
“The spirit is the same, this club must remain in Surabaya, it must go nowhere, it must be protected. And as many stakeholders as possible must be from Surabaya.”
