Germany’s top luxury vehicle maker Audi is preparing to launch a new look model of its famous SUV Audi Q5, which is updating its car portfolio in the Indian market. The company has also started booking this SUV from today, for which interested customers can book an SUV with a booking of Rs 2 lakh.
It is expected that the Audi Q5 will be launched in India later this month. The Q5 brand is returning to India in about 18 months. Earlier, the company stopped selling BD model Audi Q5 from April 2020. Audi launched its facelift model worldwide in June 2020.
To recall, Audi India has recently launched the local assembly of 2021 Q5, which comes to India as a fully knocked down (CKD) model. Commenting on the booking announcement, Audi India chief Balbir Singh Dhillon said, “Today, we are opening bookings for Audi’s successful Q family in India – Audi Q5. This will be our 9th product launch for 2021, with new Q5 Technology.
This model is already available in the global market. It gets a sporty black treatment with a single frame grille and chrome borders. However, some lower models may also get vertical slot chrome and silver skid plates. Large foglamps are provided in this SUV with black finish. Matrix LED headlamps, attractive taillights, 19-inch 5 double spoke wheels add to its look.
The cabin will also get a new look, with a black interior, black leather upholstery and matching panels for doors and center consoles. Speaking of features, this SUV will get a third generation modular infotainment platform or MIB3. The system is equipped with a 10.1-inch display, which is standard, meaning it will be offered in all variants. Other features include wireless phone charger, Audi Park Assist, comfort key with sensor-control boot-id, Audi exclusive inlay on black piano veranda, Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, B&M and premium 3D sound system.
The new Audi Q5 is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic dual-clutch gearbox. What is special about it is that it is being offered as a standard All Wheel Drive System (AWD), which means it will be available in all variants. The company may launch it for sale in the market by the end of this month.
