Bowls is the first RV manufacturer to offer an entire line of fully electric luxury RV models
Bowlus, the world leader in high-performance luxury RVs, today announced its plan to become the company’s first all-electric RV. The all-electric move follows the success of the Bowlus Volaterra, the world’s first all-electric RV, which Bowlus launched in August last year. All models, including Volaterra, Terra Firma and Heritage, will be fully electric. Founder Geneva Long saw the move to all-electric RVs ten years ago when he brought the original aluminum fixed travel trailer back to the luxury of immersive land travel, making it less demanding and quieter.
The Bowl is the perfect electric recreational vehicle due to its incredible aerodynamics and monocoque design. Long and his team designed the Bowlus to be light-weight with a GVWR ranging from 2,500 pounds to 4,000 pounds, according to the model line—about half the weight of the existing concept/ideation masses—that the Bowlus is easy to tow from. the widest range of electric vehicles for the ultimate in zero-emissions luxury camping experiences.
The Bowlus energy management system, with a capacity of up to 17 kWh (depending on the model), combined with the Bowlus Air Solar System, allows travelers to be content without the need for fossil fuels or camping. This step eliminates the ultimate disadvantage of luxury travelers. Bowles presented a long list of firsts, including the first lithium-powered RV that could push air conditioning in 2016, when much of the industry was still introducing these concepts into RVs.
“Our move to full electric means that it sets a precedent,” said Geneva Long, Bowlus founder and CEO. “Where the old RV brands use propane and gas technology or traditional batteries, we’re breaking new ground like we always have. Imagine enjoying nature without the noise of a generator – it’s a totally immersive fully electric experience.”
With roots dating back to 1934, Bowlus’ unique design concept includes wireless upgrades, the latest communication systems, luxurious spa-like bathrooms, and premium rooms and dining rooms. Bowles is known for his early industrial history when he designed the world’s first aluminum travel trailer. The brand is dedicated to innovation in favor of the brand’s mission of elevating and enhancing the luxury traveler.
Last month, Bowles announced its most expensive product, the Heritage Edition, with a starting price of $159,000.
