MILAN (AP) – Brian Adams took a break on Monday from his coronavirus quarantine in Milan to actually unveil the Pirelli calendar for 2022, which he filmed featuring other musicians including Iggy Pop, Cher and Jennifer Hudson.
Adams tested positive for the virus Thursday after arriving in Milan for events related to the release of the famous Pirelli calendar after a year-long hiatus due to the pandemic.
The Canadian rocker, who has had a parallel career as a photographer, keeps fans informed of his progress on social media, including receiving a thrombosis shot as a precautionary measure.
“It was an interesting launch. This was not what I expected. I definitely didn’t expect to have COVID over the weekend when the release was launched. It’s just the way it is, ”Adams said at a virtual press conference. “Pirelli looked after me so kindly at the hotel. I am really looked after. And thank you all for your good wishes. It’s really appreciated. “
The calendar is called On the Road, a reminder of Pirelli’s heritage as a tire manufacturer preparing to celebrate its 150th anniversary and the lives of touring musicians.
Iggy Pop, the 74-year-old punk legend, looks like a melted, silver-painted face and chest, while Cher is photographed in the dressing room, leaning thoughtfully against the mirror.
“They are all very unique and interesting artists with their own personal style,” said Adams. “When you get into their world, you really just watch them create their personality.”
The American musician and singer Saint Vincent has the honor of being a calendar cover with a guitar pick with the Pirelli logo on the tongue.
“I think the cover image will be remembered as one of Pirelli’s iconic images,” Adams said.
