The Central Hospital of San Felipe “Placido Daniel Rodríguez Rivero” reactivated the Military Communal Brigades for Education and Health (Bricomiles) to continue with the rehabilitation of the operating rooms, this time they were located on the first floor.
The hospital’s executive director, Olson Tovar Colombo, reported Monday that Bricomiles began work over the weekend with a crew of workers who immediately began rehabilitating the operating rooms on the first floor.
Tovar Colombo said, “We must keep our hospital in excellent condition to provide the people with the timely and quality care our people deserve.”
Bricomiles start second recovery phase
He indicated that the works also included demolition and construction of granite flooring, maintenance of sanitary curves, medical gas intakes, painting and replacement of lamps.
Four more operation rooms, recovery areas, pre-anesthesia areas, administrative offices and rest rooms will also be rehabilitated. Everything will be developed with the support of Bricomiles and 1X10 System of Good Government to guarantee a dignified place and good health for the users.
Likewise, he pointed out that Bricomiles would continue to be active, fixing and maintaining all areas of the hospital in order to keep them in the best possible conditions and, thus, provide a first-class service to the Yarakuan people. .
Comprehensive rescue of the Central Hospital of San Felipe
Tovar Colombo, on the other hand, recalled that the Central Hospital of San Felipe is the first health center in the region, so it is a matter of always keeping it in excellent condition with both general maintenance work and bricomiles.
In this regard, he stressed that last week the Minister of Health, Magali Gutiérrez, and the Governor, Julio León, activated operating rooms 3 and 4 of the plant recovery area of the aforementioned hospital, which were also recovered by Bricomiles.
With the activation of these two operating rooms, the hospital increased its care capacity to 15 elective surgeries per day, representing more than 400 interventions per month. With the recovery of the operating room currently operated by Bricomiles, as well as the other two that are still in planning, such capacity will be scaled up again.
Works carried out in the surgical and recovery area include repair of infrastructure for both operating rooms and installation of new surgical lights and LED panel lights. Bathrooms for patients and staff, medical gas outlets, swing doors and floors were also repaired, and epoxy paint was applied to the ceiling and walls.

Finally, he stressed that the plan is to continue optimizing hospital services with the support of Bricomiles, the governor’s office, the mayors’ offices and the organized people.
