Describing her sister as “crazy and unsure”, 30-year-old Jamie Lynn claims in the memoir that she spent her teenage years working to “hide Britney’s emotional episodes from the world”.

She says the alleged knife incident happened shortly after Britney’s marriage to first husband Jason Alexander, now 39, in 2004, whom Jamie Lynn calls a “mist of matter.”

She writes: “Once, he said to me, ‘Baby, I’m scared’, and took a big knife from the kitchen, dragged me into his room and he locked the two of us inside.”

This book has started a war of words between the two sisters.

While Jamie Lynn visited the US TV chat show to promote it – telling Nightline that she was “scared” when Britney pulled out the knife but was “afraid” to tell anyone – Britney tried to hit back. Took the help of social media.

This weekend Britney angrily tweeted that her sister “fell to a whole new level of low”.

She wrote: “Please, please stop these crazy liars for the Hollywood books. Only a scum person can make such things. ,

The girls’ mother, Jamie Lynn, 13-year-old Maddie, and three-year-old Ivy, also recounts how Britney once screamed in her face.

When Jamie Lynn discussed some of her concerns about Britney’s mental health on the TV show Good Morning America last week, Britney accused her sister of taking advantage of her illness.

She wrote on Twitter: “My sister said my behavior was out of control. 15 years ago, she was never around me at that time . .. so why are they talking about this unless it’s at my expense Don’t want to sell a book?”

The Toxic singer, who reportedly owns a £730,000 condominium in Florida frequented by Jamie Lynn and her family, then took a jibe: “She’s never had to work for anything. Everything was always given to him. ,

The next day, Jamie shared a lengthy Instagram post in which she claimed that her family had received death threats because of Britney’s “vague and accusatory posts”.

She said: “I will always love my older sister and be here for her. It’s time to put an end to the unhealthy chaos that has controlled my life for so long. ,

Brittany said to her sister in a soft voice: “I love you unconditionally.”

But she said that what Father Jamie did to her with the court-appointed conservatism – which took away most of her personal liberties but was finally dissolved in November 14 years later – was something “they don’t even do to criminals”. .

Britney — mum to Sean, 17, and Jaden, 16, by her second husband and former backing dancer Kevin Federline, whom she divorced in 2017 after three years of marriage — wrote that Jamie Lynn and her brother Brian had left her when given when they needed them.

She said: “You guys did absolutely nothing until a year ago!!!”

Brittany congratulated Jamie Lynn for “getting stronger” in interviewing her, which she’s too afraid to do, but also wrote: “Go ahead and say what you want . . . for a family in public. It is very difficult to fight like this!!!”

The line has reached boiling point as Jamie Lynn is promoting her book on the American media circuit – which she insists is about her and not Britney.

Trouble started last June when Britney referred to “my family” and “who should have helped me” during her stereotype – meaning she had no control over her £44million fortune and had to pay 27 She was not allowed to marry the year-old fiancée Sam Asghari. The trainer she has dated since 2016.

Jamie Lynn wrote in her book that the statement triggered an “attack of hatred that put me and my family in danger”.

She adds: “The references to him left me stunned. I’ve only ever taken him back. From the early days of Britney’s challenges, I’ve protected her at every turn.”

She describes how, despite being ten years younger than the Disney star-turned-pop princess, Jamie Lynn knew “to keep Britney’s emotional episodes hidden from the world.”

She says she and brother Brian, 44, have been “traumatized” by exposure and “the other side of fame.”

Jamie Lynn writes: “I am not looking for pity. I want Britney and the world to know that she is not the only one who has survived the scars of guilt and manipulation of our early years.”

With the large age difference between the Spears sisters, Jamie Lynn explains that she saw Britney as a “mom figure” and always wanted her “approval and approval”.

She writes: “I will do just about anything to live up to his good qualities and allow myself to be manipulated throughout my life.”

Jamie Lynn followed Britney into showbiz, playing the lead role in the Nickelodeon sitcom Zoey 101 for three years until she became pregnant at age 16 in 2007.

She came into limelight in 2013 for launching a country music career, but her solo single and EP failed to make an impact.

In 2020 she was cast in the Netflix romantic drama Sweet Magnolias, with its second series set to release next month.

Now she says she was only allowed to “follow my own dreams, as long as they suit Britney”.

When Britney and fellow American singer Justin Timberlake became a teen power couple in the late nineties, Britney allowed her sister to tag along as “the third wheel”.

Jamie Lynn writes: “I adored Justin. He wasn’t just my sister’s boyfriend. His relationship with Brittany was the only one in my life that gave me a sense of stability.”

In contrast, he did not trust former Brittany manager Sam Lutfi, who came to the scene in 2007. Brittany was later given two restraining orders against him.

Jamie Lynn writes: “I told Mamma, ‘He’s creepy and he makes my skin crawl’. I didn’t want him anywhere near me.”

At the same time, Britney’s mental health deteriorated amid her divorce from Federline, which resulted in her being hospitalized and put in place.

Jamie Lynn, who was just 17 when Britney’s stereotype began, writes: “Initially, I believed that if I tried to tell her how concerned I was for her well-being, So I will also take the risk of losing my sister’s respect and love.”

She admits she was wrapped up in her life and reassured her 69-year-old father Jamie and 66-year-old mother Lynn that Brittany was fine.

She writes: “There are things I said to keep my family name out of gossip, and other things I should have said when I thought something was wrong.”

In Brittany’s eyes, however, such a late concern is an attempt to “sell a book at my expense.”

Jamie Lynn insists she took no part in the controversial conservatism. But she says she and her husband Jamie Watson, 39, who owns an electronics company, have been charged with “theft and neglect in a court of public opinion”.

Los Angeles-based attorney Lisa McCarley isn’t surprised by the fallout following the end of the stereotype.

She told The Sun: “When these stereotypes go bad, they get really bad, and it’s often the case that family members are intentionally or unintentionally turned against each other.

“I know Britney was being ‘gaslighted’ throughout patronage, and it’s likely that Jamie Lynn was as well.”

Yet one of Britney’s most ardent supporters, Brennan White, spokesperson for the #FreeBritney movement, has no such sympathy for Jamie Lynn.

He added: “She’s fanning the flames to boost the sales of a book that no one would be interested in if she weren’t engaged to her more famous and successful sister.

“Jamie Lynn calls Britney crazy and spirals but fails to mention that she was in an involuntary, abusive and hostile stereotype – her takeover of life.”

With regards to the future relationship between Brittany and Jamie Lynn, Brennan is not optimistic about the direction she is headed.

He added: “I believe the chances of it being cured are very small.”
