The singer Enrique Bunbury, who announced this Friday, May 26, the seventeenth album of his album ‘Greta Garbo’ (Warner), in an interview with the European Press announced his return to the stage, after a period of retirement, this year, which he chose. They offer five concerts in different countries of America, and then another five in 2024 in cities not yet specified.
“I bet it’s not the same, the first drink gave me a lot of relaxation. The last year has been difficult and there is always something about you that dies and leaves you behind for sure. I also think that it is impossible to be the same all the time, because over the centuries different perspectives make us and life gives you joy and beats”, explained the musician from Zaragoza.
Bunbury announced his retirement from the stage in February 2022 due to health problems, although he hoped to continue his creative activity of composing, recording or writing. “What was normally a pleasure and a pleasure became a source of immense pain and suffering,” Bunbury explained at the time about his social networks.
Now with this new album, the leader of Héroes del Silencio has explained that most of the songs on the album were composed at that time, in which he excludes all duties “due to the problem of Glycol from the smoke from the stage.”
“I decided to stop dead and quit drinking and that led me to think that the most important bond with my fans was broken. Eye contact and meeting. That’s how I felt the proximity to the syndrome of Greta Garbo, who left acting 36 years ago and I think those reflections are cut through the album” , he affirmed.
For example, one of those thoughts occurs in the song “To fix the world with a song”, about which Bunbury speaks “more about his world than the planet we live on”. “Going into the game a little bit and reminding that I’m not a politician and leaving the powers and authority to myself is like me leaving myself in charge of developing the next NASA space, I’ll try to respond to this idea,” he joked. as to what he should correct?
Bunbury “Running in the domain”: “I lower the taxes”
“One of the first things I would do, if it were in my power and I would arrive, would be to limit the power of governments and supranational institutions, and also to control large fortunes, through financing, parts and instruments.” communication, he pointed out, would later propose a reduction in taxes.
“And of course taxes on the lower citizens. With all these things, it is very difficult to make someone from the government itself, we better limit the abuse of power, I have no doubt that it is not proposed by a politician who is not full or drunk”.
“There are too many laws”
Bunbury did not commit to compounding the effects of psilocybin on this occasion, which he did in writing the MicroDose collection of poems. The musician, of course, began to solve problems such as the control of certain drugs. “Not only do I not like to think about legislation, it seems strange to me. “There are too many laws and half of them, at least,” he defended.
“It is not necessary to control everything. A little bit of civil and individual duties, nothing else and the interference of the government even in the air, but the dictatorship leads us to live well and rigidly. Without me a little wrong, come on, maybe I am right”, he joked.
For Bunbury, ‘Greta Garbo’ is not a very special album, but it does recognize a personal return. “In recent years, I have published an album with a social theme, outside the perspective of the world around us and the way we should live. “Greta Garbo” is the most personal album of the last ones that I released, without a doubt, because I wanted to show the movement of discourse that I went through during the first months of 2022″, he concluded.
