Bus driver crashes into nursery in Canada, killing two children

The man was arrested and charged with murder and reckless conduct. The reason for his actions is unknown. At the same time, six children are injured.

Two children are killed and several are injured when a bus intentionally crashes into a day care center near Montreal, Canada.

Police believe that the bus driver did it intentionally. “We believe it was intentional, but we don’t know why,” Pierre Brochet, police chief of Laval, a city in the suburbs of Montreal where the daycare center is located, told AFP.

The 51-year-old driver was arrested and charged with “manslaughter and reckless conduct”. The person had no criminal record.

How a nursery was attacked in Canada that killed two children

The incident shook Laval, a small town in the French-speaking province of Quebec. The bus crashed into the nursery on Wednesday morning, leaving several children trapped under the vehicle.

Two children died and six others were taken to the hospital. “They are out of danger,” police spokeswoman Erica Landry said.

“The driver, a 51-year-old man, was arrested for manslaughter and reckless driving,” he told reporters at the scene.

Eyewitnesses said the driver deliberately dumped the bus into the nursery

“I helped stop the driver getting off the bus,” a parent of one of the children told Radio Canada while crying. His wife explained that the man was “half-naked” and that she saw the two “deliberately crashing into the nursery”.

It appears that the bus crashed into the side of the shop, which is not located near the road, but a parking lot.

A portion of the roof fell in front of the vehicle. The building was partially destroyed.

the parents were in shock

“It’s the older kids’ section that was affected,” said a mother holding her son. “It’s a shocker, many parents are in panic because they still can’t get close to the place and their children are there,” he said. The victims were taken to Saint-Justine Hospital.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he was “devastated” by the incident.

“What a terrible tragedy this morning in Laval. There is nothing worse than being afraid of what will happen to your child. My thoughts are now with the nursery children, parents and staff, Quebec Prime Minister François Legault said on Twitter.
