Cambridge High has begun to rapidly build momentum in recent weeks for the Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional softball postseason.

The streak continued on Monday, with the Lady Bobcats playing rough hosts for East Liverpool in an 18-0 one-sided five-innings Mercy win in Buckeye 8 Conference softball action at Cambridge City Park.

CHS improved the season to 13–4 with the win, and veteran head coach Bob Shepard likes the way his team is progressing in tournament action.

“We played well tonight and did what we had to do,” Shepard said. “It’s a tough game for both the teams when it’s one-sided. But we got over it and continued to build momentum for the tournament.”

“We are using these remaining games as a tune-up for tournament action, which is just around the corner,” Shepard said. “Hopefully we are arriving at the right time in the tournament.”
