Keystone copper announced the founding of James Whittaker as the new vice president and managing director of the company in Chile, the Canadian mining company that controls the operations of Green Coat and White Coat in the regions of Atacama and Antofagasta and that has the permissions to develop the Santo Domingo project.
Whittaker holds a degree in extractive metallurgical engineering from Dalhousie University and an MBA from Queen’s University, both in Canada. Also notable is his time as Executive General Manager of Oceana Gold Corporation and previously Barrick Gold Corporation, where he led project development and mining operations in Peru and Argentina.
In his new role Whittaker will be responsible for completing the launch of the Mantoverde development project and achieving full operational capacity for Mantos Blancos undertake the construction of the Santo Domingo Project and advance growth studies in the regions where the mining company currently operates.
