At 30, Cardi B is learning not to defend herself on social media.
The “WAP” hitmaker admits she’s getting better at not reacting every time she’s criticized online because she feels like a proper adult now that she’s in her 30s.
On SiriusXM’s Ebro in the Morning, the mother of two was asked if she doesn’t care about the hate she receives on apps like X and Instagram and replied:
“Much less now.” I’m getting better. That’s how it is. It doesn’t really affect me. It’s just that sometimes I have a little more time… One thing about me is that I can cut butts. I can turn on a bitch. I can look you up and down and make jokes about you. But you know what, I have to grow up, I just can’t do this anymore. “Because I could spend all day, bitch, let me check your pictures, bitch…but no…I’m an adult now.”
The Bongos star, who has five-year-old Kulture and two-year-old Wave with husband Offset, previously insisted she would not bite her lip on social media and would continue to speak her mind online.
While lamenting criticism of US President Joe Biden in 2021, he wrote on Twitter (now X):
“How are they trying to blame Biden now?” He didn’t even do shit in the White House. This just shows me how insane and stupid people can be (sic).’
Cardi B, who has 169 million followers on Instagram and 31.8 million on X, was later told to “stay in the lane” and avoid talking about politics on social media.
In response, the outspoken star explained:
“This is my lane.” I’m a tax-paying American, right? Are you a politician? … NO! So how come these landless people are more than mine? (sic)’.
Cardi previously attacked Donald Trump, Biden’s predecessor as US President.
The rapper revealed she was tired of listening to Trump ahead of last year’s US election.
About Trump he said:
“I’m tired of this bitch.” I’m tired of getting angry every time I see this man talk. It’s like, “Are you screwed?”
