Carolina Gracia plans to convert the current town hall in Orihuela Costa into a cultural center

This option, as the socialist candidate himself told the meeting, “goes through the transfer of all municipal services offered at the current headquarters of the city council to the emergency center located on Avenida Miguel de Cervantes, which occupies a 4,700 m square”. a building with, and therefore, with sufficient capacity to hold these services, even enhance them”.

Furthermore, he pointed out from the Socialist candidacy that, “In this way, various administrative services are integrated in one place, such as the issuance of DNI by the National Police in addition to parking facilities for people who have to go by their vehicles.” Is falling

In this sense, Gracia indicates that the proposal “is being well received because the services have been integrated and, in a short space of time, sought after as versatile in this cultural space and on the coast”. Spaces are optimized allowing convenience.

More Initiatives for the Coast

In the meeting, which was attended by Tomás Moreno and Unai Villanueva on behalf of the AVCLR, the mayor stated the need to start the ‘Costa Orihuela’ infrastructure maintenance plan with a transversal project for the entire government municipality and which counts a gradual increase in each of the mandates. 10% budget over the year. In addition, the Socialist candidacy proposes to carry out a shocking plan with the remnants of the treasury of the city council, “which can begin immediately”.

In addition, various proposals have been discussed, such as an increase in urban solid waste cleaning and management equipment, a 40% increase in personnel by 2027, as well as the transfer of plots to the Regional Waste Federation for the creation of eco-parks, accessories and the creation of clean points for the collection of waste, as well as a plan to improve the collection of sorting.

Likewise, priority has been given to the signaling of the beaches and the municipality, considering a tourist sustainability plan in the destination, which has received a subsidy of 2 million euros through the EU’s Next Generation Fund, and a transport network that connects various points on the coast with beaches and service buildings such as health centres.

In total, a document has been presented with 35 specific proposals for the Orihuela Coast, and which Gracia described as “open to new inclusions based on suggestions and ideas that we are collecting in meetings and individual contributions”.
