New Delhi: The Income Tax Department recently informed that it has issued refunds of more than Rs 12,038 crore to more than 10.83 lakh taxpayers between 1 April 2021 and 26 April 2021. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has made an announcement in this regard.
Even after this announcement, some taxpayers are still waiting for their income tax refund. Typically, an ITR refund falls within ten working days of ITR filing. Taxpayers who have filed their ITRs and are awaiting an ITR refund are advised to check the status of their ITR refund if it has been ten working days since their ITR filing.
Taxpayers are advised to keep an eye on the official income tax department website – incometaxindia.gov.in and check their ITR refund status to see if the refund has been credited to their account.
If a problem is raised by the Income Tax Department, it will be shown there and after the problem arises in the claim for ITR refund, the taxpayer is advised to rectify the problem online and refund it to his given bank account.
