CCIAP promotes the strengthening of the justice system

Members of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (Cciap) pointed out through their column on Sunday that Panama not only needs achievements such as a high Gross Domestic Product (GDP) but also efficient justice.

“The recent high-profile cases in our country highlight the need to continue working to improve our system of administering justice and strengthening the rule of law. It is worrying that we continue to face in a weak justice system, which generally, allows impunity to those who systematically challenge it, “said the businessmen.

They added that over the years, Panamanians have witnessed how blatant theft of state resources goes unpunished because of our weak institutions. “This is not a small problem, because this criminal behavior and constant disregard for the law has consequences that go beyond the courts, affecting the quality of life of an entire population, the country’s infrastructure and the quality of services. public services”.

They assured that without reliable and speedy justice, social and economic stability may not be achieved, and we cannot hope to be an attractive destination for foreign investment or to achieve a climate of peaceful coexistence. -with life where the same rules apply.
