ARLINGTON, Texas ( Associated Press) — Corey Seeger hit his 26th home run of the season to hit a career-high match, and rookie Bubba Thompson drove into a run with a suicide bunt as the Texas Rangers came back to Seattle. defeated the Mariners 7-4 on Saturday.
Texas went 3-0 up against Marco Gonzales (7-12) before waking up with four runs in the fourth. The attack was covered by Thompson’s bunt to the right, just as Charlie Colberson walked to the plate.
Eugenio Suarez added a home raid and a sacrificial fly for the Mariners, who won nine straight against the Rangers. Seattle, which has lost just 14 of its last 47 games since mid-June, fell half a game behind Toronto in search of a first wild-card spot in the American League playoffs.
