Chakda Express: Anushka Sharma announces first schedule wrap in true cricket style

It has been almost four years since Anushka Sharma last appeared on screen. The actress was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s 2018 release Zero opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Anushka Sharma took a break from acting after the debacle of Zero, is all set to make a comeback on screen with Chakda Express. The film is a biopic on Jhulan Goswami and Anushka will be playing the role of a cricketer. In fact, the film had a late start after Anushka’s intense training sessions.

And now, as per the recent update, Anushka Sharma has completed the first schedule of Chakda Express. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress shared the news on social media and she announced the schedule wrap in true cricketing style. Anushka shared a picture in which she was seen holding a cricket ball in her hand and had a message on it, which read, “It’s a schedule wrap”. Anushka captioned the post, “Schedule one done. More to follow.. #ChakdaXpress”.

To note, this is the first time Anushka will be seen playing the role of an onscreen cricketer for the first time. Talking about the film, Anushka told Mid Day, “It is a fact that women have to go the extra mile to make their place in this patriarchal world. Jhulan Goswami’s life is proof that he created his own destiny, and fought for every inch of the limelight and recognition. I hope I can do justice to the script.” Chakda Express is expected to premiere on Netflix next year.
