The president of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Nicolas Uribe, today opted to promote business mediation as a “fundamental” factor in the construction of “successful and fairer” societies, as he affirmed that he would gain support. companies and turning “conflicts into opportunities” into value generation.
His words began the opening of the 1st World Summit on Business Mediation, organized by the Chamber of Valladolid, together with the Mediation Center of the Spanish Chamber of Valladolid, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, the European Group of Mediation Magistrates and the Inter-American Compromise Commission.
Nicolas Uribe stated that mediation is a “huge opportunity” for societies to “sustain” and find mechanisms to resolve conflicts in a “creative” and “associated” way with the new challenges of society, combined with artificial intelligence, the internet of things. and new technologies in general. In these areas, he says, where there is no establishment or “outdated”, he allows parties to participate in the construction of solutions.
Along the same lines, the president of the Chamber of Spain, José Luís Bonet, highlighted the need for businessmen to be aware of this “act and agreement” method of conflict resolution, which he highlighted as “more effective” than “fighting”. “In judicial instances, which he is most certain are “slower and more expensive” in general.
“Negotiation and agreement are always better than conflict”, Bonet said, noting that if there are no winners or losers, “it is easier to “maintain the necessary ties”. an “incentive” to competition.
On the one hand, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Valley, Víctor Caramanzana, is an advocate of recovering the culture of conflict resolution through negotiation and agreement, through the use of words and “respect”. This, he pointed out, makes companies more competitive in the sector. For this reason, he encouraged the incorporation of this practice to establish its “potential value” in order to build a “peaceful, sustainable and prosperous world”.
In addition, Caramanzana highlighted the value of active listening in the mediation process, which he mentioned that his project has been committed for ten years, with different activities and interventions.
