Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley will compete in one of the most outstanding matches of WWE WrestleMania 39. Both survivors will face each other for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, currently held by “The Queen”, in what is considered the continuation of their rivalry from 2021.
The paths of Rhea and Charlotte have crossed more than once, the other with two Australian championships, NXT and Raw, these in Money in the Bank 2021 in a match that, according to Flair herself, would have. more dates, if not for a last minute change.
And it happened that Charlotte could barely keep the title for 24 hours, when on the following day’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Nikki changed ASH’s money in the bank account, surprising the fans, many of whom criticized the company for following the fight. He reigns with a brief plan to increase the memory of King Charlotte.
Both topics were addressed by Flair in a recent interview with Bleacher Report’s Graham GSM Matthews, where he stated that he has never had the power to create these types of things. Below we leave you a transcript of this matter courtesy of the Fighters with their own words:
“I think there would have been another match after that Money in the Bank match if Nikki had bought ASH on me. I think this (match against Rhea at WrestleMania 39) would have been the end of that story. We think Money in the Bank maybe for another (match), but then we had a marketing frenzy out of nowhere and we never crossed paths again…. In hindsight, I didn’t have the power. I say it now: I don’t control it. It’s flattering. They think I had that much power. I was very settled, but believe me, I’m not.”
After almost eight months of absence, Charlotte Flair returned to WWE in style, defeating Ronda Rousey at one point to take the SmackDown Women’s Championship from her at the last event of the 2022 Blue Label. However, the return of the fighter was accompanied by a change in attitude, he became a babyface from then on.
For her part, Rhea Ripley joined Judgment Day, becoming one of the biggest pieces in the stable. The Australian wrote his name in the WWE history books, setting several records in the latest edition of the Royal Rumble, becoming the first wrestler to win from the first position.
After her monumental triumph, Ripley decided to choose Flair as her rival at WrestleMania 39, where she hopes to get revenge on the woman who took two titles from her in the company. In the previous weeks, promotions and challenges have given way to action, as both changes have started in the blue brand. Meanwhile, rumors suggest that the pair may be the main event of the first night of the show.
