Chaudhary Virender Singh, who was an associate of the late farmer leader Mahendra Tikait, has heard the ongoing ‘Kisan Andolan’ in full swing. The elderly peasant leader also criticized Mahendra Tikait’s son Rakesh Tikait. Chaudhary said in Rohit Sardana’s show on Aaj Tak that Mahendra Tikait was like his father and Rakesh Tikait used to be a policeman when he agitated with him. He told that in 1988 when farmers took to the road against electricity and water bill, it was the biggest farmer movement ever.
Explain that the then Rajiv Gandhi government had to bow to the 35-point demand of farmers. Chaudhary Virendra Singh said that the Congress government at that time had broken the food-water supply-line of the movement and the farmers who were taking food from the tractor were killed. He said that many were also injured then. Attempting to keep it in memory, he said that while Priyanka Gandhi is going to Muzaffarnagar, she should also meet the family of a deceased farmer named Rajendra, who was then ‘murdered by the police’.
Chaudhary Virender Singh, who was Mahendra Tikait’s advisor, demanded an apology from Priyanka Gandhi. He told that now that the Mahapanchayat is happening every day, the pain of Haryana is something else. He said that it is his custom that if the daughter-in-law has to say something, it is told by the girls. He said that he should do panchayat somewhere and do politics, but we should remember that Rakesh Tikait has contested 2 elections in his father’s presence. According to him,
“Sit down in Delhi or sit somewhere or sit somewhere, the farmer is a food giver, but along with the grain he also produces young men who guard the border. We do not produce contractors. We request Rakesh Tikait to come back and talk together. There is a cease-fire in every battle. Also happened in Iraq and Yemen. Think again what you have lost, what you have gained. I am in support of these agricultural laws. Mandi had become a hunted dog. We are now benefiting from these laws. Is contract farming already happening to us? MSP is mandatory, but who will guarantee the quality? “
Virendra Singh even before this Said that Duryodhana’s soul has come in Rakesh Tikait and even now when Krishna himself comes, he will not hear anything. Virendra, who was the District President of the Muzaffarnagar unit of the Bharatiya Kisan Union from 1992-2002, said that these movements were being funded by the same anti-country forces which were carrying out anti-CAA demonstrations. Describing it as stubborn, childish and childish, he said that if ‘Baba Tikait’ were alive, what would have happened on January 26 at the Red Fort would not have happened.
He had advised Rakesh Tikait to surrender for the 26 January incident, saying that he considered the Central Government a farmer, but he was not a farmer at all. He said that the country is being betrayed. He said that Baba Tikait’s kurta did not have pockets, whereas today’s farmer leaders have many pockets. He claimed that these peasant leaders have no reason to negotiate with the government.
