Taylor Swift’s new single “Midnights” is out, complete with an Ice Spice remix.
This Friday, May 26, the singer released a new verse of “Karma” from rising rapper Ice Spice with “Midnights (Til Dawn edition).
In the new version of the song, Spice enters the second verse that begins: “Karma is your current paycheck/ Karma is a fire in your house/ It’s gonna show up without warning/ And it never leaves you alone. . ./ Look at that opps she put on the throne/ You’re raising a white flag , fearing that money / Thinking it will save you, you already change your behavior. But one new Spice lyric in particular really caught the attention of fans: “Karma is mine bestie.” It also trended on Twitter shortly after the song’s release.
In a recent interview, Celer revealed how the collaboration came about unexpectedly, calling it “one of those natural things.” But he: “[Ice Spice] He reached out to his teammates saying, ‘Hey, you know, he’s been a huge fan of Taylor Ice since he was a kid. I’d love to collaborate if it ever happens.” And I was listening to it non-stop, like I was getting ready for my tour, I was just listening to Ice Spice constantly. So I immediately got his number and said, “Hey, do you want to do your version of Karma?’ Are you telling this?” and jumped up.”
