October 7 (WNN) — Cheryl Burke and Cody Rigsby are returning dancing with the Stars.
Burke, a professional dancer, said in a video on Instagram on Wednesday that she has been cleared to return DWTS Ballroom in September after testing positive for COVID-19. Peloton instructor Rigsby will remain in quarantine until Friday.
“I’m officially cleared. I’m back to normal. There’s no more quarantine for me,” Burke said. “Unfortunately, Cody is still in quarantine, but he will be back in Los Angeles starting Friday, which means we can technically dance on both Monday and Tuesday.”
Burke announced on September 26 that he had a successful case of COVID-19. Rigby tested positive for the virus a few days later.
“I am grateful that we are healthy,” Burke said Wednesday. “Thank you guys for all your support in the last one and a half or 10 days. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster indeed, but wouldn’t have been able to get through this without you guys and all your support.”
Burke said that he and Rigsby are rehearsing two dances on Zoom and will be performing during next week’s episode.
“You’ll see us both back in the ballroom on Monday and Tuesday night. I’m so excited. We have a lot of work to do,” she said.
During Monday’s episode, Burke and Rigsby performed while away from their separate homes. The pair got 18 points out of 30 for the routine but avoided elimination.
