It was my first time in China
Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” traveled to China for the Asian Games in Hangzhou. He met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday. Let us tell you that this is Prachanda’s first visit to China since he became Prime Minister late last year. Previously, Prachanda had visited India and America. During the meeting with Prachanda, Jinping said both countries have achieved success in other projects including the Trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network.
Conspiracy to distance Nepal from India
According to foreign media reports, there are rugged areas between Nepal and Tibet. Therefore, to improve connectivity between the two countries, road and rail networks are being developed under Trans-Himalayan Connectivity Projects. Most Nepalese imports come from India. To expand its presence in Nepal, China wants to reduce Nepal’s dependence on India. However, many Chinese projects are stuck in Nepal, including several infrastructure developments.
Prachanda said, “We both are good friends.”
Nepal Institute of Foreign Affairs Pragya Ghimire said Nepal signed a transport and transit agreement to gain access to seven Chinese ports. Nine BRI projects were also selected at the meeting. During the meeting, Xi said that our two countries should strengthen bilateral relations. We should support each other with each other’s problems. Prachanda says Xi is a visionary global leader. He is a good friend of the Nepalese. Nepal and China are good friends. We can trust each other.
