Christina Ricci tells a really strange story about the name of her newborn

Well, at least Christina Ricci not in De Nile about all this.

The Yellow Vests star shared an unusual story about how her daughter was named Cleopatra on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” on Tuesday.

The 41-year-old actress and her husband, celebrity hair and makeup artist Mark Hampton, welcomed their first child together in December, and it seems like Hampton really was. Indeed delighted with everything.

So much so that the couple’s conversation right before Ricci went into surgery to deliver the baby via C-section may not have been thoroughly reported.

“Right before they prepared me [for the C-section, the hospital staff was] talking about how we had to fill out a birth certificate,” said Ricci DeGeneres.

Ice Storm star – who has a 7-year-old son, Freddie., with her ex-husband James Herdegen, explained that she and Hampton settled on the name Cleo before she arrived at the hospital. But Hampton obviously needed more clarification at the last second.

“My husband said, ‘Well, we’re going to give her her full name, right? And then the nickname Cleo?” Ricci said. With Ricci about to have surgery, the actress apparently had more pressing matters to attend to.

“I thought, ‘Cleopatra?’ And he’s like, “Yes, her full name is Cleopatra,” Ricci continued. “And I thought, ‘Okay, okay. We will talk about it later”.

Well, Hampton couldn’t wait to share the news on social media and post about his new bundle of joy before he and his wife could discuss the baby’s name in a less abstract way.

“My heart exploded,” Hampton wrote on Instagram on Dec. 8. “@riccigrams and baby Cleo are feeling fantastic, we are all relaxing after such a busy day… welcome to the world baby Cleopatra Ricci Hampton.”

“He was so excited that he posted this on Instagram and the media picked up that her full name is Cleopatra Ricci Hampton,” Ricci DeGeneres said. “And so I thought, ‘I think we named her Cleopatra.’

While Ricci seems surprisingly cool about her baby being named without her full consent, it’s hard not to imagine how her iconic character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family would have handled the hitch.
