For the second time in 2023, Colombia will celebrate Cinema Day, a day where watching a movie in a chain movie theater, whether in 2D, 3D or 4D format, is cheaper than usual. This semester, the promotion will be valid on Monday, September 25 and tickets, regardless of time, format or location, will have a value of $6,000.
“The Film Exhibition industry is always grateful to its audience. The year exceeded our expectations. In gratitude, a price ($6,000), all day Monday, September 25, 2023,” Munir Falah, president of Cine Colombia, published on his X account (formerly Twitter).
To benefit from this offer you just need to buy your ticket and attend the cinema. The terms and conditions of the promotion are very basic, so following them is not a challenge.
First of all, you should know that the companies participating in Cinema Day are six: Royal Films, Cinépolis, Cinemark, Cineland, Cinemas Procinal and Cine Colombia. And tickets can be obtained through the usual channels, that is, at physical points, through the Internet or by calling the call centers created by each company. Also, they can be paid through different payment methods such as cash, customer cards issued by each cinema or credit and debit cards.
It is important to note that the ticket office was activated on September 19. If you want to secure your place, you must buy it soon, because this promotion is subject to the availability of seats in each multiplex and it is easy to can be sold.
Cinema Day was last held in Colombia on February 13 and 460,712 viewers attended all the cinemas in the country, thus fulfilling the purpose of the celebration, which is to strengthen the film industry in the national territory.
Another important point about the ticket office is that each cinema allows the purchase of a limited number of seats per customer. In the case of Cine Colombia, they determined that the limit is nine tickets per transaction.
As for the movies you can enjoy, the Movie Day promotion includes all the titles available in every multiplex. Among the most important films you can see this Monday are Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, and Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan.
It should be noted that the two films, which were released on July 20 of this year, became a resounding success in sales worldwide. Colombia did not escape the “Barbenheimer fever”, because according to the Mixed Film Promotion Fund (Proimágenes Colombia), only during the opening week of these films, 1,826,509 tickets were sold in all the multiplexes in the country.
Among the other movies you can see this Monday for just $6,000 are The Nun 2, The Mountain King, Sound of Liberty, Hunt in Venice, Ninja Turtles, Talk to Me and Spiderman: across the Spider-Verse.
Finally, it is important to mention that this promotion only includes the ticket price. The cost of additional services, such as the cost of the food you want to eat or glasses for 3D and 4D functions, will be charged separately.
