The spider monkeys that were rescued in Venustiano Carranza, Mexico City (CDMX) were medically evaluated by the Animal Brigade (BVA). The images of the animals were shared by the head of the agency, Leticia Valera, through her social networks.
This Thursday, the Secretary of Civil Security announced the arrest of a man who sold three spider monkeys in a neighborhood market in the neighborhood of Morelos. After the animals were safe, Leticia Varela reported on the state of health.
Through his official Twitter account @LetyVarela, the official notified that the BVA received three spider monkeys, which after a medical evaluation showed that they are healthy; however, one of these films has problems.
In the same publication, he posted pictures and videos of the spider monkeys kept in CDMX. Meanwhile, he said BVA has a chain of custody of the animals while they are being transferred to the Federal Environmental Protection Attorney (Profepa).

According to what was reported by the unit requested by Omar García Harfuch, elements of the Security Corporation were exercising surveillance in the Morelos market when they noticed a man offering animals to visitors.
After the survey, they returned three black spider monkeys, of which the man did not show the necessary documents for independent ownership and transfer.
A 41-year-old man was arrested and made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for questioning.
