Clint Eastwood admits that the worst movie ever made appears in his filmography

Is this the worst movie in history? Today we review one of the most irregular westerns of the 50s, which Clint Eastwood himself has rejected in every interview.

A true legend of cinema. The best actor in western cinema. An unmatched charisma. These are the terms Clint Eastwood has with him wherever he goes, and it makes sense. To her 93 years the actor and director faced what his last film (in principle), titled Jury number 2.

The filmography of Clint Eastwood full of great qualities, both as an actor (For a bunch of dollars, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or in the saga of Dirty Harry), such as the director’s work.

We all remember like tapes There is no apology, Million Dollar Baby or Gran Torino, among many others, which showcased Clint’s talent as a director. It’s a shame that one day we will see the end of his career.

But, as happens with any actor, director or film professional, he also had some bad films. In particular, there was one he didn’t want to talk about anymore.

In his time, Clint Eastwood did not hesitate to describe it ‘The worst movie ever made”. Is this an exaggeration? Is it really as bad as the veteran actor says?

The story of a typical western

Attack Under The Sun

In 1958, Clint Eastwood joined Irving Bacon and Scott Brady new western production, capitalizing on the momentum of the season. We are talking about Ambush at Cimarron Pass known in Spain as Attack under the sun.

Directed by Jodie Copelan, this Western genre film has the classic story, set after the American Civil War. No elements collide… at first glance.

Basically, Attack under the sun tells the story of Matthew Blake and his men, who join a group of former Confederate soldiers led by Sam Prescott, against the Indians.

Clint Eastwood claimed it was ”the worst movie ever made” (via Collider), but, truth be told, there have been worse films than Attack in the Sun. trouble, It is NOT a good movie (not even within its genre).

Attack Under The Sun

There are many disadvantages Attack under the sun, a film in which Clint Eastwood played his first major role in a Western. In fact, his involvement earned him, years later, part of masterpieces such as For a bunch of dollars or The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

The script is full of stupid decisions, boring scenes and strange situations, in addition to dispensable actions. However, there are many shortcomings inherited from other films of the period.

To put this into perspective, Attack Under the Sun has an average rating of 4.5 out of 10 on Film Affinity, as well as a 5.3 out of 10 on IMDb. These are common notes, but there are worse films.

So, maybe we can consider this as one of Clint Eastwood’s worst films (even in its genre), along with Firefox, the ultimate weapon or The pink cadillac.

You see Attack under the sun? You think so one of the worst movies in history? Everyone has their own preferences, and Clint Eastwood has already given his verdict on this film in 1958. Whatever the case, at least it helped bring him to the elite of the Western genre.
