Clint Eastwood turns 93, one of Hollywood’s last ‘living legends’

Today, May 31, great film legend Clint Eastwood turns 93, an actor, screenwriter and director whose gaze commands respect.

Born in San Francisco California, in 1930, American actor Clint Eastwood Jr., was famous for his performances in the Dollars trilogy and the “Dirty Harry” film series.

He grew up in a humble family, the son of a father who worked in the metallurgical industry and a mother who worked in an IBM factory. In 1951, at the age of 21, Clint Eastwood was drafted into the US Army, stationed at Fort Ord, and sent to the Korean War.

Eastwood’s film debut was Francis in the Navy (1955), while his directorial debut was “Chills in the Night” (1971), a haunting rural Wild West drama. The last film directed by and starring Clint is due for 2021: It’s called “Cry Macho,” a name that seems inappropriate for Eastwood’s frantic love life.

The actor, producer, screenwriter and film director had eight children with six women and was married twice, “When it came to women he had a philosophy of collecting trophies,” said his biographer.

Clint Eastwood is considered one of the last remaining ‘living legends’ in Hollywood, a staunch ‘Westerner’ who adores the American film industry and is aware of the true media place he occupies in the industry.

“When I wake up every day, I don’t let the old man in. My secret is the same since 1959: keep busy. Old age can be creative, light and full of projection”, he assured in a recent interview .
