Cofepris and Google track information that is not reliable in the health and health sector | Puebla communities

The Federal Commission for Health Risk Protection (Cofepris) and Google LLC sign a cooperation agreement to formalize a communications protocol that allows the federal agency to report content created by third parties that violates health regulations. so that Google can take the appropriate action.

Additionally, It is announced that the YouTube Health platform adds Cofepris as an ally and is one of the official and specialized sources in health matters to combat misinformation through truthful and timely content. The aim is to promote specialist topics that serve as a reference for users and thus create a culture of obtaining reliable information on health topics.

One of the main goals of this platform is to bring reliable health protection topics closer to the population; For this reason, the Cofepris team of specialists has carried out various actions, including the development and implementation of the first training entitled “Best practices for creating safe health content”.

This training was conducted by Cofepris’ Operations Manager, Alexandro Molina Gasman, and Social Communications Manager, Isaac Macip Martínez. The action was aimed at content creators and employees of YouTube Health, who were informed about the powers of this health authority and the main dissemination campaigns aimed at informing the population about health risks.

As part of this collaboration, Cofepris broadcast from the Google Mexico facilities the 100th session of the Educapris program, which provides training to the regulated sector so that they know the institution, its procedures and regulatory improvement strategies.

Federal Commissioner Alejandro Svarch Pérez was involved in the 100th episode; the Commissioner for Health Promotion, Pablo Quiroga Adame; the Director of Social Communications, Isaac Macip Martínez, and the Deputy Director of Social Research, Verónica Suárez Rienda.

In addition, the PAHO representative in Mexico, Juan Manuel Sotelo, took part; YouTube Latin America Head of Responsibility, Daniela Guerra Elizondo; Google Mexico’s senior manager of government affairs and public policy, Hugo Martínez McNaught, and YouTube Health’s manager of strategic partners in Latin America, Isaac Ochoa León.
