Cold Front 2: These are the affected states until September 16th

Cold front number 2 is already in the north of the country and will therefore hit some states with rain, showers and hot environments

The National Weather Service (SMN) announced that the second cold front is already in Mexico and is expected to bring some wind gusts, showers and rain, as it will remain almost aesthetic in the northern states of the country, unlike other phenomena that continue their course.

This new cold front will be primarily concentrated in the northern states due to interaction with a low pressure channel There will be some rainfall and showers, although other phenomena leading to hot environments are also expected.

For the West, the Center, the Southeast and the Yucatan Peninsula Prolonged rainfall and showers are expected due to low pressure channels and instability in high levels of the atmosphere, as well as moisture intrusion into the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

On the other hand, for the states Guerrero, Oaxaca, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Chiapas and Michoacan Very heavy to heavy occasional rainfall is expected.

Despite the new cold front in the north of the country, very hot temperatures of up to 40 degrees are expected.

  • Very heavy rainfall with heavy individual events (75 to 150 mm): Guerrero and Oaxaca.
  • Heavy rain with very heavy spots (50 to 75 mm): Chiapas.
  • Shower intervals with intermittent heavy rain (25 to 50 mm): Coahuila, New Leon, Tamaulipas, Sinaloa, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, Morelos, Puebla and Veracruz.
  • Shower clearances (5 to 25 mm): Chihuahua, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
  • Scattered rain (0.1 to 5 mm): Guanajuato and Querétaro.
  • Wind gusting to 40 to 60 km/h with possible dust devils: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Durango, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato and Jalisco.
  • Maximum temperatures of 40 to 45 °C: Sonora, Sinaloa, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas and San Luis Potosí.
  • Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 °C: Baja California, Baja California Southern, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.
  • Maximum temperatures of 30 to 35 °C: Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo (north), Puebla (north and southwest) and Morelos.
