The Colombian authorities and the connectivity and data center service provider will ask for support from the private sector to overcome the crisis triggered by the cyberattack that affected 45 companies.
But one of the affected companies has already made a decision that began with several emails that Colombia Compra Eficiente sent to IFX Networks on September 13, a day after a cyberattack that company suffered that targeted the platforms and Databases of public and private companies affected units in the country.
There, Colombia Compra Eficiente asks IFX for a detailed report indicating the reason for the outage, the timing of the unavailability, the elements and services affected, the mechanism used to resolve the critical situation, the relationship of the affected companies and the contingency plan planned to deal with the situation.
However, according to Colombia Compra Eficiente, IFX did not respond to these urgent requests.
“After the expiry of the deadline of one working day, this Agency notes with concern that the transmission of the urgently requested information has not been complied with, given the serious impact on the platforms of several buyers and the security of the information managed through them,” says a statement from the company.
On Thursday September 14th, Juan David Marín, assistant manager of Colombia Compra Eficiente, requests the information again, with the maximum delivery date being Friday September 15th at 12:00 p.m.
Despite this warning from Colombia Compra Eficiente, IFX has also not responded, therefore the government agency assures that it will continue to apply clause 8.17 of the pricing framework agreement and the virtual store of the Colombian State, with which Colombia Compra Eficiente will be able to “as a precautionary measure and until Suspend the end of the reported circumstances to the supplier.”
This highlighted IFX Networks’ lack of response to the Colombian government after the massive cyberattack that paralyzed the state’s digital services. Colombia Compra Eficiente is the first to suspend its contract with this company following the hack.
