The story of Mayra Alejandra Romero Molina
The family lives in sadness and despair of a 28-year-old girl from Granada Meta who, in search of better stability for herself and her family, decided to move across the southern border with Mexico to the United States.
The 28-year-old came to San Francisco State 14 months ago to devote herself to creating addresses on various digital platforms in the area.
He started this journey with his companion, 35-year-old Edward Pajoy Delgado, a Colombian national who is a native of Granada, Meta.
In an interview with RCN radio, Mayra’s older sister, Mónica Romero, spoke about what happened and explained that the young woman had suffered abuse from her partner months earlier.
Monica begins by remembering her sister as a happy, outgoing woman, full of life and illusions, who dreamed of providing a better life for her eight-year-old daughter.
Myra and Edward had been together for about four years, with his sister confirming that they had a toxic relationship where Myra suffered long periods of physical and psychological abuse.
“Their relationship was very toxic, he was very jealous of her, he spied on her social networks, her WhatsApp and did not give her a quiet life (…) Edward Pajoy Delgado was a monster who came into her life to get had her away from us,” he recalled.
The victim’s younger brother, Nicolas Romero, said that Edward hit him in front of him eight days before they left for the trip.
“Eight days ago they went to the United States illegally, he hit her in front of me, I caught him and they took us to the police station,” she said.
