A 41-year-old Colombian woman said she was raped in broad daylight by a group of four men as she walked through a central neighborhood of Naples, Italy. Preliminary reports said the woman was surrounded and hit in the head by her attackers while walking around the city’s famous Garibaldi Square.
As soon as she lost consciousness, she was taken to a van where she was then sexually abused multiple times by everyone in a group.
The Colombian had recently been in the country and lives in Foggia in southern Italy, but according to local media reports, he traveled to Naples for professional reasons. Due to the severity of her injuries, she required medical attention.
The Naples public prosecutor’s office is already investigating the case of sexual violence against the woman of Colombian origin, of which she was also a victim in addition to the theft. They stole a watch, two necklaces and 250 euros, which is approximately 1,060,000 Colombian pesos.
The first clue they have to find the four perpetrators is the footage from the surveillance cameras in the sector, with which they hope to identify those responsible, who, according to the woman, did not speak Italian.
Apparently, some local media reported, the area where the rape took place had become a peripheral town, constantly denounced by residents of the sector, where acts of violence are constant.
A case similar to the Colombian occurred, recalled the press in Naples, in 2021. A nurse reported being sexually assaulted by a man in the same area when she returned from work.
