More than 40 years ago he completed his project “En familia con Chabelo”.
The actor Xavier López, known for his character Chabelo, has died, as reported on social networks.
Auriga has marked a whole era in television, since for more than 40 years he accompanies Mexicans every Sunday morning with the program En familia con Chabelo.
Xavier López was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 17, 1935, although his parents are from Leon, Guanajuato. At one age, he and his parents returned to the state of origin, where they first lived for eight years, before moving to Mexico City.

Thanks for making our childhood a better place, buddy.
Sundays for Mexican families would not have been the same without you.
May he rest in peace, Chabelo. pic.twitter.com/LBRKdBfGdn

In his youth, Xavier López decided to study medicine, meanwhile he became involved in the world of television, which later left him to devote himself fully to acting.
The story behind Chabelo
Over the years he met Xavier López Ramiro Gamboa, better known as Tío Gamboín, who was then the owner of the music program Carrusel.
Uncle Gamboín gave him the opportunity to participate in a program in which he told a joke led by a character named Chabelo, a name that Xavier López adopted.
Xavier López began to compare the reputation of Chabelo with which he participated in films such as Chistelandia, a production outside of which Cantinflas starred, a wasted slave and an inappropriate warning, among others.
I am very sad that Chabelo has left us, he was a part of my childhood and he made me very happy with his development.

However, it earned public affection, especially among children, when on November 26, 1967 En familia con Chabelo was first broadcast, a family program that was broadcast on Sunday mornings for more than 40 years.
In this, Chabelo had competitions in which participants could win prizes such as furniture, equipment, toys or cash through Cataphyxia.
After 48 years on the air, En family with Chabelo had his last day on December 2015.
