Political prisoner Lázaro Yuri Valle Roca, imprisoned in the Combinado del Este in Havana, is without medical attention despite presenting a fever and having swollen glands and high blood pressure, his wife Aralidis Frometa denounced on his social networks.
Valle Roca, sentenced to five years in prison for alleged crimes of “sustained enemy propaganda” and “resistance”, was transferred to the Combinado del Este hospital, according to the independent journalist’s wife, however, the doctor who received him Refused to enter it.
“Then they went to the company where he is and spread (rumors spread) that he refused to enter, which is another lie,” Frometa explained.
Due to the state of his health, the freelance journalist was prescribed an antibiotic called cephalexin for a second time, although, his wife said, it caused him headaches.
Blas Roca Calderio, grandson of the founder of Cuba’s Communist Party, was arrested on June 15, 2021 after filming several activists throwing leaflets with Martí’s phrases on Zanza Street in the municipality of Centro Habana.
The opponent has been in delicate health for months.
“Vision problems … They are demanding that he be evaluated by an ophthalmologist. In addition, he continues with the same respiratory problems, that the flu won’t go away. No food to give to the prisoners. No, what he is being given is boiled water,” Frometa told Radio Martí in statements made on January 5.
The political prisoner’s wife held the Cuban government responsible for Valle Roca’s life and physical integrity.
