Kolkata: A number of controversial statements have surfaced before the West Bengal assembly elections. The new controversial statement has come from Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Alam, who is going to break India.
Addressing TMC supporters at Basa Para in Nanur in Birbhum area, Sheikh said that if 30 per cent of the Muslim population comes together then we can make 4 new pak.
The TMC leader was heard saying that we are 30 per cent and they are 70 per cent. They will come to power with 70 percent support, they should be ashamed. If our Muslim population moved aside then we can make 4 new Paks. Where will 70 percent of the population go?
Sheikh made the remarks during campaigning for TMC candidate Bidhan Chandra Majhi, who is contesting from Nanur (SC) Birbhum.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reacted strongly to Sheikh’s statements, saying that TMC leaders are making such remarks due to Mamata Banerjee’s appeasement politics. BJP leader Amit Malviya accused the TMC supremo of making the majority community in the state second class citizens.
Malviya tweeted, “TMC leaders like Sheikh Alam have the audacity to create 4 Pakistan due to Mamata Banerjee’s shameless appeasement politics over the last 10 years.” He also had to get court approval for Durga Darshan.
The BJP has repeatedly accused the Banerjee leadership of indulging in appeasement politics and favoring the minority community.
