Why is black fungus affecting Kovid-19 patients?

People with uncontrolled diabetes are at higher risk of getting corona infected. When this happens, they are treated with steroids, which further affects their immunity. Doctors in India say that steroids being used to treat critically ill kovid patients can cause black fungus to arise. While steroids work to reduce lung irritation, at the same time reducing immunity, it can increase the sugar level of both cervid patients suffering from diabetes and those not suffering from it. Patients living in ICU for a long time also have a higher risk of black fungus.

What are the precautions to avoid black fungus

Black fungus cases are more prevalent among people suffering from diabetes, so in view of this, people need to control their diabetes. Kovid-19 patients should monitor glucose levels in the blood after discharge. People with diabetes should do the same thing, even if they are not infected with kovid. In which state are many patients of black fungus

The reports According to this, cases of blanket fungus have been reported in 10 states of the country so far. These states include Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, UP, Bihar and Haryana.

According to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope, the number of Black Fungus patients in the state can be up to 2000. Two people died of black fungus on Wednesday (May 12) in Thane, Maharashtra.

More than 100 cases of black fungus have been reported in Gujarat and the state government has started making separate wards for the patients of black fungus. Two people have died of black fungus in Madhya Pradesh while more than 50 cases have been reported.

At the same time, 14 cases of black fungus have been reported in Rajasthan, while around 60 cases have been reported in Telangana and more than 30 cases in Karnataka.
