coronation roadK Tim Metcalf couldn’t believe his eyes on tonight’s episode when Sally was arrested by the police, just as her anaesthetics began before her heart surgery.
Turns out, however, she wasn’t having any hallucinations: Sally (Sally DiNever) had in fact been turned away by the authorities—and the second installment of this evening’s Double Bill (January 24) wastes no time explaining that Why.
Waking up from his operation, “left” with vague memories of his partner Tim (Joe Duttin) believes it must have been a dream. “It was so real,” he murmured to his mother, Elaine, before asking daughter Faye (Ellie Leach) if she would have seen Sally.

Determined to keep Tim calm, the two played dumb, knowing full well that what he saw had actually happened.
“It’s the last thing Tim needs,” argued Elaine (Paula Wilcox), as Faye said: “It’s for her own good. We have to protect her, that’s what Sally wants.”
Unfortunately for him, and bestie Kevin Webster—who was also trying to keep Scrum—Tim grabbed the Morning Gazette and was stunned by the image on the front page.
As Kevin explained what had happened, Tim rolled his eyes as he looked at a picture of Sally sitting down to go to the toilet as the headline read: “New Year’s Eve.”

Elaine explained that Sally fought when the Corps arrived at the hospital, and she broke down a vending machine and left for criminal damages.
As soon as she was released, Sally approached Tim’s bed and told him that she had been released with caution. When Tim wondered aloud how she ended up in the newspaper, Sally speculates that someone may have taken a picture of her on his phone and leaked it to the press.
Feeling emotional after his operation, Tim apologizes to Sally for not telling him about his health problems early on, before he loves her. The pair then said that they had forgiven each other.
