North American distribution chain Costco Wholesale Corporation reported an attributable net profit of 4,132 million dollars (3,849 million euros) in its first nine fiscal months, which ended on May 8. The results represent an increase of 8.5% compared to the figures for the same period last year.
America’s firm 163,251 million dollars (152,067 million cash entered) in total, 5.5% more. Such an amount, the sale by itself provided a major part of the income, 160,280 million (149,299 million in cash), a figure 5.5% higher than that recorded in the previous year. Later membership commissions for 3,071 million dollars (2,861 million cash), 6% more estimated.
For its part, Costco’s expenses amounted to 158,002 million dollars (147,177 million reported), 5.6% more. The multinational explained 143,367 million dollars (133,545 million of cash) and 14,651 million of dollars (13,647 million of cash) corresponding to the titles of marketing costs and sales, general and administrative expenses respectively.
A total of 833 warehouses
Costco now operates according to the European Press- a total of 853 stores, including 587 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 107 in Canada, 40 in Mexico, 32 in Japan, 29 in the United Kingdom, 18 in South Korea, 14 in Taiwan and another 14 in Australia, four in Spain, three in China, two in France and one each in Iceland, New Zealand and Sweden. Likewise, Costco also has online stores in the US, Canada, Britain, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.
Costco For the fourth quarter of the group net profit achieved 1,302 million dollars (1,213 million cash) between February and the beginning of May, 3.8% less than the previous year, while its income increased by 2%, up to 53,648 million dollars ( 49,973 million cash ).
