A Costco worker gave proof of his great honesty and ethics. And that’s it The man returned the large amount of money found inside an envelope.
John Sotelo was in one of the stores in the city of Clovis, California, stacking some boxes with water bottles when he noticed something among the boxes.
He looked closely and discovered that there was an envelope. Looking inside, he saw a pile of money.
That was about $3,900 dollars.
Instead of keeping the money, John informed the manager of the discovery. Thanks to the security cameras, the two saw a woman missing the envelope with the money.
They may also have found the person’s membership number and contacted them.
The worker said that the woman was relieved when she got the money back, because she will use it for her children’s school..
“It was crazy because my manager made me go outside and the client was there. “He shook my hand for twenty seconds,” the man said.
“Yeah, he was like, ‘Oh, you know, I’m so glad you found this. For my kids to go to school.’ I say: ‘It’s okay, you know I’m happy to help,'” added the exemplary worker.
John said that on August 1 he decided to be the employee of the month.
Thanks to this noble action, the man achieved his goal and his name and photo are now displayed on the honor roll at the entrance of the store where he works.
